Hope dies at last, but when to give up?

Is there any chance to avoid the inevitable, to kid destiny?

If yes, well... why is it called inevitable?
If not, when is the time to give up, to accept it? Has there still have to be a bit of hope?

If not, why are there optimists in the world? Life goes according to plan anyhow...

That kind of questions really bothered me the last 96 hours, in which I really got to know what the word "loose" means. And I surely will get to know it better next week on Friday... Accounting exam... Hoping the best, learning for continuance...
